This event is first of its kind and is in continuation of SBI efforts to promote investment opportunities in Sindh and finding export avenues. Chief Minister Sindh, accompanied by the Minister agriculture Ali Nawaz Shah and Chairman SBI Mohammad Zubair Motiwala had earlier led a delegation comprising of senior government officials and private sector to Dubai Annual Investment Meeting 2012 for showcasing investment opportunities in Sindh. As a result of positive interactions with UAE Agribusinesses, the Agriculture department Sindh has taken this initiative to promote export of mangoes from Sindh in the UAE market.
In Sindh there are more than 125 varieties of Mango and Sindhri is a unique variety among it. Sindhri is one of the most popular mango varieties from Pakistan and is considered among the best tasted mangoes of the world.
Dubai Mango Festival is being organized in collaboration with famous UAE Chain Stores and Retailers.
Accordingly, three day promotional campaign will be run at selected stores namely Al-Maya Supermarket, Unifruitti (Carefour) and Lulu Hypermarket in UAE where Mangoes will be displayed and sold.
The event will be formally inaugurated at a ceremony organized with the help of Embassy of Pakistan, UAE. Ali Nawaz Shah, the Minister for Agriculture, Sindh and Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, Chairman, Sindh Board of Investment will jointly host the event to be participated by government officials, leading fruit exporters and growers from Sindh and different guests from UAE together with diplomats and other dignitaries.
Growers from Sindh Abadgar Board and Sindh Agriculture Chamber will also participate in Dubai Mango Festival 2012 and display various varieties of Mangoes at stalls.
