Chairman Senate said Senate would continue to play its role for independence of media.
He congratulated Dr Firdous on assuming the post of Special Assistant to Prime Minister and urged that Ministry of Information should extend its support to efforts of the upper house in protecting rights of provinces.
Dr Firdous assured the Chairman Senate full cooperation of the ministry.
Federal Minister for Defence Production Zubaida Jalal and Senator Rubina Irfan were also present in the meeting.
