Director, Health Services of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Dr. Birbal Gayani said the victims aged between 20 years to 80 years, including two women, were brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
They were said to be provided immediate assistance and to have been discharged as they gained consciousness and found fit to move to their respective residence.
They were identified to be Rashda (50 years), Sumair (20 years), Nazir Ahmed (70 years), Zahid (25) and another lady aged 25, her name was not disclosed as per request of her family. They belonged to different neighborhoods including that of Baldia Town, Pak Colony, North Nazimabad and Nazimabad.
Jinnah Post Graduate Centre, Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital of Karachi and other major hospitals reported to have received no such case as weather was comparatively mild with breeze blowing throughout the day.
Being a holiday people were found to moving out of their homes in late afternoon as significant dip in temperature was recorded as compared to that of 41.2 degree centigrade on Tuesday.
Improved weather conditions emboldened many to reach sea side and different recreational centres/parks across the metropolis besides participating rallies and procession taken out to mark world labour day.
