He was responding to the calling attention notice of senator Mushtaq Ahmed who drawn his attention towards the state bank’s report published in the newspaper about increase in the prices of necessary items before Ramadan in the upper house.
The minister categorically denying any such report said he was not aware of any state bank’s report indicating the increase in the prices of utility items.
“Due to devaluation, there is an increase in inflation in the country,” he said adding the government was going towards economic stabilization.
He said the government was going to announce the Ramadan package very soon and similarly the special efforts were underway to arrange special Ramadan bazaars in every major city to provide relief to the people during the holy month of Ramadan.
He said the government would control a temporary rise in the inflation during Ramadan by all means.
