PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information Shaukat Yousafzai Monday said that efforts were being made to launch five more FM Radio stations across the province to promote journalism, tourism and other sectors of life.

Speaking as a guest during his visit to Regional Information Office and Radio Pakthunkhwa Swat Station he said the government wants to open more radio stations in order to provide opportunities to budding journalists and youth to showcase their talent.

He appreciated Radio Pakhtunkhwa for airing valuable programs including current affairs, cultural, sports and entertainment for people of the district.  The government was taking appropriate step to make sure better opportunities to youth to express themselves.

He said that the two-day PFUJ peace conference in Swat district would portray positive image of the district to the world community and would be helpful in promoting regional tourism and facilities being available there.

Replying to a question during a Radio program, Shaukat admitted that organized propaganda was going on against polio campaign which was matter of grave concern as health future of children was linked with the polio vaccination.

He said it was responsibility of the people to support the government’s efforts to make Pakistan polio free and foil the conspiracies against polio drive, adding that polio workers were national heroes and deserve our full cooperation.

Referring to Swat motorway, he said the era of development would usher with the completion of Swat motorway express. He listened to the problems of workers and assured to resolve their issues.
