KARACHI: Four ships MOL Globe, Reem-5, Argent Aster and Bunga Alamanda carrying containers, Bitumen, Chemicals and Palm oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday.

Meanwhile another ship, `Pigasus' carrying Palm Oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

A total of eleven ships, were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Condensate, Coal, Chemicals, Bitumen, LNG, Palm Kernel and Palm Oil respectively. Out of them, four ships, Maersk Kinloss, MOL Globe, Star Osprey and Mariman sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, and three more ships, GAS carrier 'Aloriaq', and Container vessels MSC Asya and Diyalla are expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 154,886 tonnes, comprising 88,178 tonnes imports cargo and 66,708 tonnes export cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,701 Containers (TEUs), (1,055 TEUs imports and 2,646 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.

Four ships, Diyala, GSL Tianjin, Hansa America and Indigo Flora carrying Containers and Coal are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Bulk Terminal respectively on Thursday. While another Container Vessel CMA CGM Rigoletto is due to arrive at PQ on Friday.
