Unprecedented work done by climate ministry: Zartaj

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul on Monday said her ministry had taken revolutionary steps for environmental protection during the last six months and also streamlined its internal affairs.

Speaking here at the National Assembly she said “Climate change Ministry had made unprecedented work during the last six months which was never seen during the last  35 years.”

Speaking on a point of order, she said neither any dam was built by the previous governments nor any significant step was taken by them in that regard.

She said that various internal affairs in the ministry were put in order and matters in its divisions and departments were streamlined. The minister said the government was working to replicate successful model of the “Billion Tree Tsunami Project” all over the country while steps were being taken for environmental protection.

She said the name of climate ministry was changed thrice in the past but no practical step was taken.
