18 rare species animals to reached Pakistan from UAE by Sunday
ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Wednesday informed that a total of 18 tigers and lions of rare species being gifted by the government of United Arab Emirates (UAE) would reach Pakistan by Sunday and are to be kept in Lahore Zoo.
Talking to media persons here, he said we thank to UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum for such a precious gift to be brought from Al Nakhli Wildlife Centre, Dubai. “The team of the ministry of climate change has visited the Lahore Zoo, where the gifted species will be kept, and examined the arrangements made for the big cats,” he added.
Amin said that the 18 big cats include three White Tigers two males and a female of 2 to 4 years age, one White Tiger male of 1 year, six Bengal Tiger (Common) four male two female of 2 to 4 years and four pairs of African Lions of 3 to 5 Years.
The adviser informed that we were planning to bring more animals in Islamabad Marghazar Zoo and improve cleanliness arrangements.
While replying to the queries, he said that 10,000 saplings had been planted at 2,500 acres land retrieved from land grabbers in Nankana Sahib where a proper jungle was going to be established. A university would also be set up at Nankana Sahib, he added.
