Hyderabad mayor presents HMC's budget

The Mayor Hyderabad Syed Tayyab Hussain Tuesday presented surplus budget of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation for the year 2018-2019. The Mayor told the members of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation that the management has expected income of Rs 2,617,926,393/- while the expenditure of the financial year has been estimated as Rs 2,617,802,135/- which would help to save an amount of Rs 124,258/- in the year 2018-2019.
The income expected to be received in the year 2018-2019 included Rs 1,390,695,000/- through share from government in lieu of Octori Tax, Rs 360,000,000/- special grant in aid except OZT share, Rs 224,303,404/- demand to provincial government for release of deducted amount of share of OZT in lieu of Octroi Tax during July 2006 to March 2012, Rs 21,363,935/- through special grant in aid, Rs 5,000,000 grant in aid (Uplifting of traffic), Rs 25,351,663/- expected amount to be received from FBR, Rs 40,000,000/- grant for rain emergency and de-silting of nalas, Rs 188,430,000/- through taxes, Rs 249,208,500/- through fees, Rs 30,100,000/- through rents, Rs 4,50,000/- through other receipts, Rs 75,943,891/- through arrears,Rs 2,000,000/- through sale and profit and Rs 1,000,000/- through other capital income.
The expenditure of Rs 2,617,926,135/- has been estimated in the year 2018-2019 which included Rs 501,663,935/- for development works, Rs 1,673,848,200/- for establishment charges, Rs 405,020,000/- contingencies (R&C), Rs 820,000/- as charged expenditure, Rs 6,050,000/- loan and advances, Rs 1,000,000/- has been allocated for unforeseen, Rs 500,000/- for civil defence, Rs 10,000,000/- for disaster management, Rs 15,000,000/- for financial assistance for family of council, Non SCUG employees who died in service and Rs 3,900,000/- has been earmarked for grants and scholarship.
Meanwhile, the Budget 2018-2019 of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was approved amidst protest of the opposition members.
