Activities at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 100,116 tonnes of cargo comprising 61,925 tonnes of import cargo and 38,191 tonnes of export cargo including 4,773 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 61,925 tonnes comprised of 12,849 tonnes of containerised cargo; 19,881 tonnes of bulk cargo; 26,200 tonnes of coal and 2,995 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 38,191 tonnes comprised of 23,565 tonnes of containerised cargo; 594 tonnes of bulk cargo; 9,232 tonnes of wheat and 4,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 4,773 containers comprising of 1,006 containers import and 3,767 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 276 of 20's and 340 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 25 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 539 of 20's and 343 of 40's loaded containers while 386 of 20's and 1,078 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were seven ships namely Hyundai Global, Ever Diamond, Hansa Regensburg, Xin Hong Kong, Sea Dragon, Asavari and Han Zhi carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were three vessels viz. CMA CGM Narmada, Han Zhi and Sand piper carrying containers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

As many as 1,230 containers comprising of 400 containers import and 830 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. There were two ships namely CV MSC Susanne and MV Da Kang carrying containers and general cargo sailed out to sea on Friday afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV MSC Susanne, MV Da Kang, MV Bar Bounty, MV Endeavour Strait, MV Azizi, MV Ruby Star, MT Arctic Aurora, MT Jo Pinari and MT Navig-8 Sky were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, soyabean seeds, sand, coal, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as four ships namely CV Hugo Schulte, MV Lowland Amstel, MV Asma and MT Al Huwaila carrying containers, coal, bitumen and LNG respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV Hugo Schulte, MV Clipper Helen, MV Asma, MT Khor Gas and MT Al Huwaila carrying containers, bitumen, LPG and LNG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Energy Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Friday.
