A news story "Pakistan not seeking restoration of security assistance, US told" carried by Business Recorder in its yesterday's issue gives a clear picture of the current status of US-Pakistan bilateral relationship. That the situation is still far from satisfactory despite Principal Assistant Secretary of State Alice Wells' recent visit to Islamabad is a fact that has found its best expression from Foreign Office's message that 'mutual respect' and 'mutual trust' must guide relations between the two countries. It is therefore heartening to note that the country's policymakers have finally decided to work towards formulating a policy that serves country's interests in a meaningful manner. The US must be told that its 'do more' mantra is not going to work anymore.
