All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) while condemning the brutal killing of Kashmiri youth and illegal detention of freedom movement leaders by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir urged the global community on Thursday to take serious notice of the situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK). Addressing a protest demonstration here outside the Indian High Commission, the leadership of APHC Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) chapter said that the Indian occupational forces in IOK have stepped up state terrorism against Kashmiris.
They also condemn the continued detention of Hurriyat leaders in occupied Kashmir. The APHC leaders also condemn the continued Indian atrocities against the Kashmiri people and violations of human rights. The speakers strongly condemned the arrest spree and other human rights violations by the troops in the occupied territory. They demanded the international community to play role in granting the Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination.
The speakers said that entire South Asia is facing uncertain situation due to delay in the resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute which is also not in the interests of India. They said that permanent peace in the region is impossible without settling the Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. The speakers said that Kashmiri people are rendering unprecedented sacrifices for a great cause and they would continue their struggle till it reaches its logical conclusion.
They said that the Kashmiri political detainees are being denied of basic medical and health facilities despite their deteriorating health conditions. They said the detention of Musarrat Aalam Butt and Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo is not only illegal but is also the murder of justice, adding that international community must take notice of the situation.
The protestors were holding banners and placards inscribed with anti-India slogans. They also chanted slogans against the Indian brutalities in Occupied Kashmir. On this occasion, the leaders of APHC stressed that resolution of Kashmir dispute is imperative for enduring peace in the region. They said the freedom leaders are jailed under the draconian law without any crime. They deplored the killing of innocent Kashmiris on the Line of Control due to Indian firing. They urged the international community to intervene in the Kashmir issue for its early resolution.
