Former President and Co-Chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday said Shaikh Mujeeb (Nawaz Sharif) of Jati Umrah has become security risk to Pakistan. "I can push them out as and when desire," he asserted, saying that Nawaz Sharif was working on the plan of 'Greater Punjab'. He said this while addressing the participants of The Mall Road rally organised by Dr Tahirul Qadri's party Pakistan Awami Tehreek.
He said Nawaz Sharif is saying that he is being forced to become Shaikh Mujeeb ur Rehman, who had broken Pakistan. Our generations cannot forgive Mujeeb and Nawaz Sharif wants to become Mujeeb. "Is this patriotism?" he asked the participants of the rally. He said Nawaz Sharif has deviated from his oath by appreciating Sh Mujeeb ur Rehman. "A politician takes oath not for a day or so. We are bound to it forever."
He recalled that Benazir Bhutto had never spoken against Pakistan despite visiting all across the world. However, he made clear that the PPP would always oppose dictators because they do not build but destroy the country. He said the remnants of Zia Ul Haq are active in the society. Pakistan is ours and not theirs as they are sincere to Jati Umrah and are least bothered about Pakistan.
He further said Nawaz Sharif had not faced a fraction of the atrocities being faced by the workers of the PPP and PAT. "But never opposed Pakistan," he claimed, adding, "We want to live for Pakistan and die for Pakistan." He appreciated Dr Qadri for bringing a number of political parties on one platform. He said the country was under threat of the residents of Jati Umrah. He said Sharifs have taken enormous loans to weaken Pakistan and called Nawaz Sharif as 'Modi Ka Yar' (Modi's friend) and warned that he would not be able to fulfill nefarious designs in presence of the workers of the PPP and the people of Pakistan.
He said he did politics in Pakistan which is his right. But his politics was not against the country, he added. "Rather, we would act against those who are passing anti-Pakistan remarks." He said Nawaz Sharif was criticizing Abdul Qudoos Bizanjo for getting 500 votes and becoming Chief Minister Balochistan but he has forgotten that the PML-N was ready to take him as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly. He said the PPP would save Balochistan.
He also recalled objectionable language used by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif against him when he was President of Pakistan. "I never reacted to his criticism because I was interested in the continuity of democracy." Zardari said those having political understanding know that how easily he can push Sharifs out of power as and when he desires so. "But I am not doing so for the sake of Pakistan." This country would live long and our future generations would enjoy this homeland. We pledge to protect this country.
He vowed to get justice for the martyrs of Model Town and also Zainab of Kasur. Meanwhile, the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah said seeking justice is important even a day is left in the completion of the tenure of the assembly. "We want to save Pakistan," he asserted, adding, "We will ensure justice for the poor ones.
