The Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) has announced to launch a series of protest demonstration and rallies throughout the country to press the government to reverse its decision of withdrawal of subsidy on fertilizers.
"Members of the Board will hold demonstration in front of the press clubs across the Punjab province and in front of the offices of Deputy Commissioners on January 13, 2017, to press the government for revival of subsidy on fertilisers. Later, a series of protest demonstrations will be held across the country on January 16, 2017, for the same cause," said KBP President Chaudhry Nisar Ahmad.
He warned that in case their demands are not met the Board would give a call of blocking all the national highways and roads. Chaudhry Nisar Ahmad was speaking to media after the meeting of Board's Core Committee here on Thursday. Some new office-bearers of the Punjab wing of the Board took oath of their offices in the meeting which also discussed the situation arising out of withdrawal of subsidy on fertilisers.
