Activities at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 102,381 tonnes of cargo comprising 72,255 tonnes of import cargo and 30,126 tonnes of export cargo including 6,031 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 72,255 tonnes comprised of 41,810 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,104 tonnes of general cargo; 1,841 tonnes of coal and 25,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. The total export cargo of 30,126 tonnes comprised of 15,726 tonnes of containerised cargo; 12,400 tonnes of iron powder and 2,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 6,031 containers comprising of 3,035 containers import and 2,996 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,177 of 20's and 807 of 40's loaded while 232 of 20's and 06 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 527 of 20's and 155 of 40's loaded containers while 859 of 20's and 650 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were three ships namely HS Wagner, Ocean Glory and Inaba carrying containers, coal and steel respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were three vessels viz. UAFL Zanzibar, Bremen Trader and Danceflora SW carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths. There was one ship namely YM Excellence carrying containers sailed out to sea on Wednesday.
There were six vessels viz. Cosco Sao Paulo, Osaka Tower, Taroko, MOL Endowment, Loyal Pegasus and Achilleas-S carrying containers, oil tanker and coal respectively due to arrive on Wednesday.

The total export cargo of 21,774 tonnes includes 21,774 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,575 containers comprising of 2,429 containers import and 1,146 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. There were three ships namely CV Maersk Denver, MT Black Pearl-110 and MT Grand Ace-1 carrying containers, LPG and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Wednesday afternoon.
A total number of six vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Uruguay, CV Maersk Denver, MV Black Pearl, MV Igic Anka, MT Pacific Energy and MT Grand Ace-1 currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, LPG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as thirteen ships namely CV MSC Rita, CV Maersk Stockholm, MV Han Hui, MV Saadong Hai Yao, MT Liberty-N, MT Nordic Gas, MT Maran Gas Delphi, MT Gan Tribute, MT Serenceti, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Harmony, MT Bunga Alamanda and MT Hong Hai-6 carrying containers, project cargo, soyabean seeds, LPG, LNG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Wednesday.
There were four vessels viz. CV Maersk Stockholm, MV Han Hui, MT Maran Gas Delphi and MT Hong Hai-6 carrying containers, project cargo, LNG and palm oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Energy Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
There were eight ships namely CV Uni Florida, CV CSAV Toconao, CV MSC Rita, CV Safmarine, MV YM Mirinda, MV Fu Ming, MT Shalamar and MT Ashada carrying containers, coal, chemical and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Wednesday while another ship namely CV CMA CGM Maupassant carrying containers is due to arrive on Thursday.
