For the first time in the history of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), an insurance policy has been introduced for 8000 regular employees of the Agency. The WASA employees will get medical and financial cover in case of accident and retirement.
Sources from the Agency told this scribe that WASA would pay six million rupees annually to the Life Insurance Corporation. They said the employees would be able to claim insurance within five years of retirement as well as before time retirement. The official sources have expressed the hope that this policy would boost confidence of the employees. They have also appreciated the Corporation for offering a lucrative insurance policy.
