Man killed in protest against rape, murder of girl in Karachi
A person was killed after police started aerial firing in order to disperse protesters who were protesting on Tuesday near Kati Pahari in Karachi against the murder and rape of a minor girl.
The protesters took to the streets and demanded authorities to take notice of the incident and arrest those who committed the brutal crime, local media reported. The police started aerial firing after they were unable to disperse the protesters who had resorted to pelting stones at the security officials.
As a result of their firing, two protesters were injured. The wounded men were taken to a hospital where one of them succumbed to his injuries.
The residents of the area have been protesting over the minor girl who was found dead last night in Manghopir. According to police, the report suggested that she was raped and then murdered. However, the investigation is underway while DNA samples have been taken from the body.
