No decision to be taken without consent of all PIA stakeholders
ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Aviation Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan Monday said that the employees of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) were the real custodian of the national carrier and any decision would be made with the consent of all stakeholders.
He was talking to the PIA Air League delegation led by Central President Shamim Akmal here, a press release said.
He said that no decision would be made for privatization of PIA without the consent and will of its employees.
The adviser assured the PIA delegation to take all necessary action for resolving their grievances on priority and said that efforts were being made to uplift the standard of the national carrier.
Sardar Mahtab also assured the delegation that 10 percent incremental allowance would be given to the employees of the Engineering Department.
He directed the officials concerned to implement the decision without delay. Approval for providing incremental allowance would be given in the next meeting of the PIA's Board of Directors.
President Islamabad PIA Air League Usman Khan was also present on the occasion. Earlier, the members of the delegation apprised the adviser of the problems and difficulties, which the employees of the PIA were facing and put forward their suggestions.
