Fit Fawad Alam beats Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman

The test, which was conducted at NCA, was part of the fitness camp for the upcoming Ireland and England tour, local media reported.

The 32-year-old Alam outshined youngsters, including Hasan Ali, Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman, on the fitness scale, after they all managed to score 18 points each. Whereas, skipper Sarfraz Ahmed scored 17.4 points in the same fitness test.

Meanwhile, wicketkeeper batsman Muhammad Rizwan topped with a score of 21, while middle order batsman Asad Shafiq scored 20 points.

Alam, who is known for his consistency in domestic cricket, maintains a first class average of 55.37. During the last domestic season, Alam scored 570 runs in 10 first-class matches at an average of 40.71 and strike rate of 63.12.

On the other hand, the National Selection Committee - headed by Inzamam ul Haq - has shortlisted the 25-member squad for the initial Test camp starting from April 11 to April 15 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore prior the tour of Ireland and England.
