ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to complete its counter-arguments in the Axact degree scam case Tuesday.

An IHC bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurengzeb heard the federation’s appeal against the trial court's judgment in the Axact degree case.

During the course of proceedings, counsel for Axact Company, Babar Awan, contended that the federation had filed the appeal with 43 days delay and the law did not allow even a one-day delay. Moreover, the federation had also not sought waiver to file the appeal with delay.

He said the Federal Investigation Agency FIA had presented irrelevant people as witnesses.

The petitioner’s counsel said any judge’s act could not be made as a base to cancel the acquittal judgment.

The court adjourned hearing of the case till April 10, directing the FIA to complete its counter-arguments.
