Anti-polio drive begins in KP, FATA, GB

According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department, more than 6.7 million children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio drops, Radio Pakistan reported.

About 26,000 teams have been constituted, which will visit door to door to administer anti-polio drops to the children.

Polio teams will also be available at railway stations, bus stands and other public places to ensure that no child is left without the vaccine.

Strict security measures have been taken for the security of polio teams.

In Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) more than 238,000 children of five years will be administered anti-polio vaccine during the campaign.

For this purpose, 1,400 teams have been constituted to administer anti-polio drops to the children in GB.

Polio teams will also be available at in-coming and out-going points of all the districts to make the campaign successful.
