Senate body directs CDA to take concrete steps for provision of water
ISLAMABAD: A sub-committee of Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat Monday directed Capital Development Authority (CDA) to take concrete steps for provision of clean drinking water to the residents of capital city.
The committee met here at Parliament House under the convener-ship of Senator Kalsoom Parveen.
The committee expressed concerns over the shortage of water in various sectors of the capital city, saying that more water resources needed to be constructed to fulfill water requirements in the city.
The committee also raised the issue of Sir Syed Memorial saying that their building was locked by CDA. The committee directed to conduct inquiry into the matter.
The committee also took notice of dilapidated roads in Blue Area Islamabad and illegal parking issue.
The committee directed CDA to immediately resolve these issues.
The meeting was attended by member of the committee Senator Hidayatullah, Registrar Islamabad Muhammad Ali and Member Planning CDA.
