Pakistan former captain turned commentator, Ramiz Raja, believes that the country’s Under 19 team need to work on their batting, in order to move up in the World Cup.

The Pakistan U-19 clinched the spot for the semis, after they beat South Africa by three wickets in the quarter-finals of the ongoing ICC U-19 World Cup.

Raja was of the view that the Green Shirts boost an impressive bowling unit, but need to work on their batting that required improvement in their footwork.

“So my first impression of Pakistan Under 19 players featuring at the World Cup is that these kids are a mirror copy of the seniors: Good in bowling but patchy in batting, work is needed to improve the footwork -get forward when driving against pace. Need to be authoritative against bumper,” Raja said on social media.

Earlier, the Green Shirts chased down a modest target of 190 in 47.5 overs with three wickets in hand against the Proteas, as man-of-the-match Ali Zaryab shone again with the bat, hitting an unbeaten 74 to take his side to the finish line.
