373,848 Hajj applications received in 10 days
ISLAMABAD: Record breaking Hajj applications had been received during the last ten days by the quarters concerned, a Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony spokesman Wednesday said.
According to the latest update, a total of 373,848 applications have been received in which 64,938 from Peshawar, 72,326 from Lahore, 67,745 from Islamabad, 81,554 from Karachi, 31,838 from Multan, 17,280 from Quetta, 16,326 from Faisalabad, 13,178 from Sialkot, 5,713 from Sukkur and 2,950 from Rahim Yar Khan.
It is pertinent to mention here that 120,000 Haji would perform their sacred religious duty under Government Hajj Scheme while 59,210 under Private Hajj Scheme out of a total 179,210 this year. Wednesday was the last date of submitting Hajj applications and the balloting would be held on January 26.
