Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) media department should; therefore, ensure its active role for providing awareness to citizens on the development and constructive activities of KMC. Contacts and coordination with the electronic and print media should be made effective besides ensuring better coverage in the social media, he said while chairing meeting of the media management committee in his office.
Akhtar was given a detailed briefing about the working of media management department and informed about its problems. Mayor urged the officers to ensure timely and effective coverage in media of the KMC events by using latest technology. He said better media coverage can help in image building and restoring peoples’ trust on municipal organizations.
