The army was deployed at Dera Ghazi Khan airport for the security and safety of the passengers and staff, while Elite Force was deputed to patrol the road leading to the airport. These measures were taken after an abortive attempt to blow up a pylon of Wapda near Fort Munro (DG Khan).
"We have called out army for the security of Dera Ghazi Khan Airport because an operation against the outlaws continued in Kohlu, Barkhan, Musa Khel, and Loralai and miscreants can react anytime", said DG Khan DPO Salman Chaudhry.
He said that an inter-provincial meeting of DIGs, DPOs, DCOs, and political agents was held here on Wednesday to review law and order situation in tri-border area and check the influx of terrorists into Multan from Balochistan and Sindh.
The DPO also said that it is very important airport which is being used equally by the residents of Kohlu, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur and Barkhan because it is only 112 km away from Kohlu and Loralai.
