Two modern textile testing laboratories have been established at the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) Complex here to facilitate the textile industry vis-à-vis ISO and WTO requirements. Director General PCSIR Complex Lahore, Syed Asad Mustafa told APP here Monday that the labs one 'dry' and the other 'wet' facility, had been set up in the Applied Chemistry Research Centre under the industrial linkage programme for testing textile products.
The labs are equipped with 25 modern instruments which include weather-o-meter pilling and abrasion tester, air and water permeability tester, softener and stiffness tester, fibre blend analyser and fibre diagram machine etc.
The DG said these labs would facilitate textile industries in obtaining ISO certification to meet the WTO requirements.
He said the textile industry should take benefit of the facilities being offered by PCSIR to help them compete in international markets.
