Mushahid urges PTI to work for strengthening democratic system

ISLAMABAD: Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Senator Mushahid ullah Khan on Wednesday urged Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehrik to avoid derailing democratic system in the country.

He said that PTI chief should bring suggestions at the forum of parliament for reforming the system in any institution.

He said that holding protest rallies, sit-in or using derogatory language against the democratically elected government was not the right way.

Talking to a private television channel, he said that chief of Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) and Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) were not accepting the Constitution or rule of law of the country.

Secretary Information of PML-N, Mushahid ulla Khan said international observers and independent organizations had acknowledged that general elections conducted in 2013 was much better than the previous elections.

He, however said that efforts were being made to bring improvement in the system.

Senior leader of PML-N said that a commission had been formed on the directives of the Prime Minister for electoral reforms.

He hoped that next general elections would be conducted in more transparent manner.

Replying to a question, he said that democratically elected government and system could not be removed on the wishes of a few thousand people.

He urged all the parties including PTI to come forward and strengthen the democratic system besides bring suggestions at the forum of parliament to improve the institution.
