LHC takes notice of girl's murder

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Thursday took notice of the news published in a section of press regarding murder of a young girl after allegedly raping her in Shahdara.

District & Sessions Judge, Lahore has been directed to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by the local police along with his own comments.

According to details, a burnt dead body of 18-years-old girl was spoted in Fazal Park (Ghulam-da-Bagh) of Begum Kot.

Police reached the spot and took the body into custody. Police announced in the Mosques of the area for identification of the body but to no avail. Police said the girl was strangled after allegedly raping and her body had been burnt so that she could not be identified. Police revealed that no signs of resistance had been found at the place of occurrence.

LHC Complaint Cell took serious notice of the news and directed the concerned D&SJ to look into the matter and submit report within a week.
