The three-member bench of the apex court including Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan resumed hearing the LPG quota case.
The Chief Justice asked the petitioner, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, apprise the court whether he would engage a counsel or to appear himself.
During the course of proceeding, counsel for Jamshoro Joint Venture company Khawaja Tariq Rahim submitted Ferguson audit report and said that the company had deposited Rs 140 million in one week on the direction of the apex court.
He pleaded before the court to direct Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) not to declare M/s Jamshoro Joint Venture defaulter with regard of sales tax and royalty.
He said that the company had deposited 75 per cent of the total income for which sales tax and royalty was effecting.
The Chief Justice remarked that the deposited amount could not be withdrawn till the decision of the case.
The court adjourned hearing of the case for three weeks.
