QUETTA: Unknown assailants lobbed a hand grenade at a shop on Quetta’s Sariab Road on Friday killing its owner.

The shop which dealt in CDs was located near the Awami petrol pump on Sariab Road.

The owner of the shop who was initially injured in the attack was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

The proprietor Abdul Salam, was a resident of Quetta’s Ittehad Colony located on the provincial capital’s Kirani Road. Motives behind the attack could not be ascertained but Taliban in the past had been attacking the CD shops in FATA and KPK terming the business as unIslamic.

After the attack, the assailants managed to escape from the scene.
