The cellphone service was suspended in twin cities for four hours from 10:00am to 2:00pm as security measure on the arrival of Chinese premier in Pakistan
Earlier, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had issued a notification, stating that the cellular phone services in the twin cities will remain suspended from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
Chinese PM Li Keqiang arrived in Pakistan on a two-day official visit. He was given warm welcome in Islamabad.
It is the first visit of Li Keqiang to Pakistan after becoming the prime minister of China, providing him an opportunity to him to meet new Pakistani leadership and discuss ways to further strengthen deep rooted bilateral ties.
Extraordinary security arrangements were made on the arrival of Chinese PM Li Keqiang in Islamabad, which included suspension of cellphone service, while the security of the city was handed over to the Pakistan Army.
