ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued a notice to Station House Officer (SHO) Aabpara on a petition seeking registration of First Information Report (FIR) against former president Musharraf in the Lal Masjid case.

A single-member bench, comprising Justice Noor Ul Haq Qureshi, heard a petition filed by Haroon Rashid, the son of Lal Masjid cleric Abdul Rashid Ghazi.

Advocate Tariq Asad, counsel for applicant, prayed that Lal Masjid probe commission reveals that the army operation was ordered by Musharraf who is responsible for the tragedy according to the report, therefore a case be registered against him.

The advocate told the court that SHO Aabpara was approached for filing of FIR but he has not so far registered the case.

The IHC formally admitted the petition for hearing and issued a notice to SHO Aabpara, seeking a report within seven days.
