Caretaker CM Sindh chairs meeting regarding law, order

KARACHI: Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (Retd) Zahid Kurban Alavi on Sunday expressed his firm commitment that general elections-2013 would be held on time according to the schedule.

Addressing a high level law and order meeting at CM House, he said that terrorists and anti-state elements want to delay the general elections by creating law and order situation, adding, we will crush their ill-designs.

The Caretaker CM Sindh said that the All Parties Conference (APC) scheduled on April 30 and the suggestions of the all political parties will be incorporated and further steps will be taken accordingly.

The Caretaker CM Sindh said that untoward incidents took place near the offices and election camps of different parties to stop such attacks and ensuring security and safety across the Sindh especially in Karachi provincial government is taking prompt and urgent measures, he added.

He directed the LEAs to beef up the security surrounding the offices, elections camps and candidates of all the political parties.

The Caretaker CM Sindh expressed his firm resolve to provide peaceful and conducive environment to the voters so that they could cast their votes without any fear.

He said that terrorist and miscreant elements want to create panic among the people but present government with the help of political parties and people will crush their nefarious designs.

He praised the spirit of patience and harmony shown by heads of various political parties during current situation.

He added that political parties continued their support in spite of precarious situation and all the political parties are united to hold elections on time.

Such resolve and firm commitment of parties will defeat the ill-designs of the terrorists and anti state elements, Caretaker CM said, he said.

Earlier the Caretaker Sindh CM was briefed in detail about the present law and order situation by law enforcement agencies.

They said that in spite of limited resources and shortage of personnel all possible measures have been adopted to restore the peace and curb the terrorist activities in the metropolis adding that there would be positive results very soon and law and order situation will improve in few days.

The meeting was attended among others by Caretaker Information Minister Noor ul Huda Shah, Principal Secretary to CM Sindh Naveed Kamran Baloch, heads of law enforcement agencies and other officials concerned.
