In a Twitter post, Lt General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim tweeted: "Soon Ferrari will join Dubai police fleet." According to reports by Arabian media, the police Chief feels Dubai is a unique cosmopolitan city and this can add to its uniqueness.
It has not been revealed which Ferrari model the police will go for but the new LaFerrari unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show last month would not make for a bad choice, with its 950 hp V12 engine that punches it to a whopping 350 km/h!
The Aventador, bought for a reported $500,000 last week, was painted in the green and white colors representing the Dubai force, and we expect any Ferrari can pull off that look too. In fact, the police Chief has been quoted as saying they were so pleasantly surprised by the reactions of people to the Lamborghini that they thought Ferrari would be the next best choice.
Dubai Police’s current top-notch vehicles include the Toyota Land Cruiser, the Kia Mohave and the Chevrolet Camaro, all of which facilitate high-speed chases after run-away criminals, not to mention add oomph to the cops’ X factor.
Maybe a Batmobile would be a welcome addition after the Ferrari has been settled.
