PM spokesman clarifies news about funds

ISLAMABAD: A spokesman of the Prime Minister’s House has contradicted news reports carried by a section of media as unfounded wherein it has been reported that the Ministry of finance has refused to release Rs20 billion for provision of oil for Thermal Power Plants.

The spokesman reiterated that the government is committed to ensure provision of fuel to Thermal Power Plants to ensure optimal generation of electricity.

The Ministry of Finance has been issued clear instruction to release a provisional amount of Rs20 billion for the purpose, emphasized the spokesman.
