We learn more in an inside report. Nope, it’s not the HTC ChaCha AKA “The Facebook Phone” or any other Android. In fact, it appears not to be a phone at all. How anti-climactic! Reportedly, it’s simply that the next HTCs will be entrenched in Facebook, or at the very least its home screen will.
Not like your ordinary Facebook app or widget, this one is allegedly a full-on Facebook skin, to make sure Facebook is the first thing you see when you unlock your screen. The mobile might have other Facebook-centered features too, such as a picture sharing icon that posts directly to Facebook by default or a contacts list that incorporates all your Facebook contacts, or a calendar listing all their birthdays automatically.
So if Facebook is integrating only with Android this way, does that mean Mark Zuckerberg is banking on it against Apple’s iOS systems?
