A three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed resumed hearing over the constitutional petition of Imran Khan.
During the course of proceeding, Hamid Khan, counsel for Imran Khan stated that during the last hearing of the case, the federation expressed its commitment to come out with solid points in regard with the right to franchise during the coming elections.
When the CJ put this question before Munir Paracha, the counsel for the Election Commission, however he expressed his excuse to give any statement saying that he was not present during the last hearing.
The CJ remarked that no concrete proposal could be seen which could enable the overseas Pakistanis to use their right to vote. The court called the deputy attorney general to appear before the bench, however later on the case was adjourned till March 13 while issuing notice to the Attorney General to appear before the court in the next hearing.
