Sindh govt has failed to handle coronavirus crisis effectively, says Zaman
- Zaman demands an audit of Rs2.5 billion spent for dealing with the health pandemic.
- Despite the provision of funds, ventilators and required medical equipment is insufficient to cope with the disease: PTI leader.
(Karachi) PTI leader Khurram Sher Zaman has criticised the Sindh government for not handling the coronavirus pandemic effectively.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi on Monday, he demanded an audit of Rs2.5 billion spent for dealing with the health crisis.
"Billions of rupees have been doled out to some favourite hospitals," he claimed. He said that despite the provision of funds, ventilators and required medical equipment is insufficient to cope with the disease.
The PTI leader said that the Sindh government has destroyed all the hospitals in the province. "It seems like the health ministry has been targetted as per a planned conspiracy," Khurram said.
He pointed out the Sindh government failed to define standard operating procedures for hospitals. He demanded the government to reopen OPDs of hospitals, do an audit of funds used for handling the health crisis and provision of relief and dedicate one hospital in each district for coronavirus situation.
