The country's exports on month-on-month (MoM) basis have witnessed a 47.24 percent decline, from $1.814 billion to $957 million, during April 2020 against March 2020, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistic (PBS) said.

According to the PBS, the country's imports during the period also witnessed a decline of 6.88 percent from $3.316 billion to $3.088 billion.

The country's balance of trade during April-March 2020, also witnessed a decline 41.88 percent, from $1.502 billion to $2.131 billion, the PBS said.

On quarterly basis, from July-April 2019-2020, Pakistan's exports witnessed a decline of 3.92 percent, from $19.160 billion in July-April 2018-2019 to $18.408 billion in July-April 2019-2020.

The imports of the country on quarterly basis witnessed a decline of 16.5 percent during July-April 2019-2020 against same period of the past financial year from $45.393 billion in July-April 2018-19 to $37.905 during July-April 2019-20.

The balance of trade on quarterly basis improved by 25.68 percent, from $26.233 billion in July-April 2018-19 to $19.497 billion in July-April 2019-20.

On annual basis, the country's exports witnessed a decline of 54.19 percent, from $2.089 billion in April 2019 to $957 million in April 2020, the PBS added.

The imports of the country also went down by 34.49 percent, from $4.714 billion in April 2019 to $3.088 billion.

The country's balance of trade on year-on-year (YoY) basis improved by 18.82 percent from $2.635 billion in April 2019 to $2.131 billion in April 2020, the PBS said.
