K-P govt implements ordinance against hoarding: Wazeer

• Those involved in hoarding will be arrested without any warrant: Wazeer.
• Information advisor says people providing information regarding hoarders will be given 10 percent of the value of confiscated items.

(Karachi) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor Ajmal Wazeer has said that the provincial government has implemented an ordinance against hoarding with immediate effect.

Addressing a press briefing in Peshawar on Tuesday, he said that as part of the ordinance, hoarders will be given jail sentence of up to three years in addition to a fine amounting to the value of 50 per cent of the hoarded items. He said all the confiscated items will also be seized by the government.

"Those involved in hoarding will be arrested without any warrant," the advisor mentioned.

He maintained that those who will provide information regarding hoarders will be given 10 percent of the value of confiscated items.

He said that the K-P government is also taking measures to take action against profiteers.

He said those arriving in the country from Afghanistan are being taken care of and so far, 520 persons have been shifted to quarantine centres.
