Mufti Taqi Usmani gives fatwa about jummah prayers amid coronavirus crisis

Following the Sindh government's decision to prohibit all congregational prayers including on Friday till April 5, renowned religious scholar Mufti Taqi Usmani has urged people to respect the decision.

In a tweet from his official Twitter handle, the scholar said that people should not only follow the directives of the government for Friday prayers but also follow them in their daily prayer routines.

He further said people should arrange to pray at their homes as a group or can even pray individually. He also asked people to pray to the Almighty to rid the world of the pandemic.

"Those unable to attend prayers at the mosque are excused by Sharia," the mufti said.
