Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday said that the narrative of declaring some people as traitors must come to an end.

Talking to journalists outside the Parliament House, he regretted that the protests by ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are taken as symbol of patriotism while any sane voice coming from the opposition is taken as voice of traitors.

He said that the Presidency has become a 'factory' of ordinances, convening the ongoing session ten days ahead of scheduled meeting of National Assembly shows desperation of the government for ordinances as it wanted to extend ordinances which were going to be lapsed.

About the issue of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Kaleem Imam's removal controversy, he said that it should be the choice of the province to get an IGP of its choice but the Centre is intentionally creating issues for Sindh.

He said that skyrocketing inflation has made lives of people miserable but the government never exhausts by justifying the poor governance of their party's poor performance.

Talking to journalists, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Imran Khan is first premier who changed the culture of cozy camp offices of prime ministers and chief ministers as it was misuse of taxpayers' hard-earned money.

She said that respective prime ministers had a track record of setting up camp offices especially in hilly areas such as Muree and Nathiagali for spending weekends in summer season.

After coming into power, Ashiq said that Prime Minister Khan changed the law in a bid to ensure judicious utilization of the taxpayers' money.

"No one challenged the past rulers as to why they brutally misused the taxpayers' money for their luxuries and comforts," she added.

She said in the past prime ministers used to take cronies on their official foreign tours but PM Khan boarded commercial flights to extensively reduce the cost.

She said the Prime Minister opted to stay at his own house instead of using official residence in the PM House, adding some anchors indulged in misinforming and misguiding the people. She advised the "rumor mongers" to refrain from misguiding the people and apprise them of PM's initiatives in the national interest.

About PM Khan's recent trip to Davos, she said Ikram Sehgal was associated with a think tank which had sponsored the Prime Minister's visit and ministers in the past to project Pakistan at international forums and added the issue was blown out of proportion.

She said Ikram Sehgal had organized specific meetings in the past and once former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was barred from addressing international economic forum because of corruption charges against him.

"We don't want to involve international Pakistani Diaspora in our local politics," she added.

She said the governor State Bank of Pakistan had announced the increase in export support fund and added it was portrayed out of context.

She said State Bank of Pakistan had given relaxation in the loans by June 2020 to the exporters, which was part of PM's vision of 'ease of doing business.'

She said that a comprehensive legislation was under discussion with different media organizations to provide relief to the working journalists.

Awan called upon the media to properly project the austerity initiatives of Prime Minister Imran Khan, adding fake news about increase in PM's remuneration is circulating in media and there is no truth in it.

She said the Prime Minister is spearheading an extensive campaign to drastically reduce expenditures and added fake news is misleading one and an attempt to distract the attention from his actions in the best national interest.

"Prime Minister Imran Khan has set a new precedent of curtailing extravagant expenditure and ensuring simplicity," she said, adding the Prime Minister took concrete steps to save discretionary funds.
