National Assembly's Subcommittee on Food Security and Research met here on Friday to discuss a private member bill titled "the Chamber of Agriculture Bill, 2019." The bill provides legal framework for establishing Chamber of Agriculture aimed at creating a platform for agriculturists to seek redressal of their grievances and promote agriculture.
On January 3, 2020, the National Assembly Standing Committee on National Food Security and Research constituted a four members sub-committee under the convenership of Chaudry Muhammad Ashraf to examine the Chamber of Agriculture Bill, 2019. On April 25, 2019, Riaz Fatayana of the PTI had tabled the bill.
On August 7, 2019 the main committee extended the period of the sub-committee for another 30 days for deliberation on the Chamber of Agriculture Bill, 2019.
