  • DG ISPR termed Indian army chief's statement ‘disappointing as he holds a very responsible appointment’.
  • He also invited Indian Embassy in Pakistan to take any foreign diplomat or media to prove the claim on ground.

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor has dismissed Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat's claims that India allegedly destroyed three camps in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Taking to the official Twitter handle, the DG ISPR wrote that the Indian army chief's statement is disappointing as he holds a very responsible appointment. The DG ISPR said that no camps were destroyed and the Indian Embassy in Pakistan is welcome to take any foreign diplomat or media to prove the claim on ground.

He further said that propensity of false claims by senior Indian military leadership especially since Pulwama incident is 'detrimental to peace in the region'. "Such false claims by Indian Army are being made to suit vested domestic interests. This is against professional military ethos," the DG ISPR tweeted.

Six civilians and a soldier of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom on Sunday, while two soldiers and at least nine civilians were wounded in AJK, after Indian forces resorted to indiscriminate and ruthless shelling from across the Line of Control (LoC).

In a befitting response, Pakistan Army targeted Indian positions across the LoC destroying two Indian bunkers, killing nine Indian soldiers and injuring several other troops.

Following the ceasefire violation, Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat had claimed, "Six to 10 Pakistani soldiers have been killed and three terror camps have been destroyed." He further said that the Indian Army used artillery guns to target camps in AJK.
