Pakistan Army soldier martyred in firing by Indian troops across LoC : ISPR

A Pakistan Army soldier was martyred after Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Baroh and Chirikot Sector.

In a statement the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said due to the firing Sepoy Naimat Wali embraced martyrdom. Two women were also injured in serian village due to the ceasefire violation by Indian troops. The statement further said that Pakistan Army responded to the firing and targeted Indian Army posts.

"Pakistan Army troops targeted Indian Army posts in response. Post substantially damaged. Reports of casualties to Indian troops," the ISPR said.

On Tuesday, Pakistan summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia to lodge a protest against the unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian troops along the LoC on October 6 and October 7. Nazira Begum an elderly woman had died and three other civilians had sustained injuries in the firing in Chirikot sector.

Pakistan urged the Indian side to respect the ceasefire arrangement in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC and the Working Boundary.
