NA joint session adjourned after opposition creates ruckus in Parliament

National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser adjourned the joint session on Tuesday for a short period after the opposition lawmakers created a ruckus in the Parliament.

The joint session of the Parliament has been called to discuss Indian's ceasefire violation across the Line of Control (LoC) and its decision to scrape Article 370 from Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK). The session was adjourned amid opposition chanting slogans and prevented Human Right Minister Shireen Mazari from addressing the floor.

Once the session resumes, the Parliament will discuss India's deployment of additional troops and atrocities in IoK. The session will also discuss India's unprovoked firing and use of cluster bombs on innocent civilians in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The joint session was summoned by President Arif Alvi after India approved a bill to revoke Article 370, stripping Kashmiris of the special autonomy they had for seven decades. By revoking the Article 370 of the constitution, people from the rest of India can now have the right to acquire property in IoK and settle there permanently.
