Opposition nominates Hasil Bizenjo for post of Senate chairman

The opposition parties  in the Senate nominated on Thursday National Party’s (NP) Hasil Bizenjo for the slot of the Upper House's chairman.

The opposition party's 'Rehbar Committee' decided the name of the NP's leader after holding a meeting today. Deposed premier Nawaz Sharif has also expressed his confidence in nominating the NP leader, local media reported.

On July 9, the opposition party had submitted a no confidence resolution against Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani to the secretary of the Upper House. The removal of Sanjrani was decided at an All Parties Conference on June 26.
