ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan on Thursday said the visit of Afghan president would help strengthen the peace process and would bring the stability in the region adding Pakistan and Afghanistan were natural allies and neighbor countries, also had very strong cultural, social and traditional relations.

In an exclusive talk with PTV news she said the visit of Afghan President a great achievement of Prime Minister Imran Khan as  regional connectivity  was the vision of the PM which would connect the Pakistan with world.

Imran Khan-led government was moving forward  with a positive approach and taking all those initiatives that would open a new era of development in the country, she said.

"Pakistan had rendered a number of precious lives for Afghanistan and even made a history in the world by hosting more than 35 lac Afghan-refugees", she said.

She stressed now at this crucial time Afghanistan  should  stand with Pakistan and focus must be  to eliminate their differences through dialogues and move forward for the sake of both countries.

She said, " national issues are discussed in one-to-one meeting of PM and Afghan president and they decided to implement on these matters at the earliest".

"A 'joint working group' , including ministry of economic affairs and commerce, would be formed that would visit Afghanistan in 1st week of July and would work on  implementation strategy that would help resolve the issues.

She further said the trade, investment and  peace process were the main points of the meeting as without stability and peace no country could progress.

"The Government is emphasizing to increase the exports to Afghanistan upto $ 3 billion and the target  can be achieved by addressing the trust deficit", she claimed.

Pakistan was striving to build a connectivity among all the ministries of both countries, and  ministry of information was working over the media exchange program that would work on bilateral-engagement-strategy that would portray the soft image of Pakistan across the globe and definitely eliminate that negativity that was highlighting by the India-media against the Pakistan, she remarked.
