Pakistan conducts successful training launch of Shaheen-II ballistic missile
Pakistan conducted the successful training launch of surface to surface ballistic missile Shaheen-II, Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor announced on Thursday .
Taking to Twitter, DG ISPR announced the successful training launch of the missile. The DG ISPR added that Shaheen-II is capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear warheads up to a range of 1500 KMs. "Shaheen-II fully meets Pakistan’s strategic needs towards maintenance of desired deterrence stability in the region," the DG ISPR added.

According to a statement by ISPR, the training launch of the missile was aimed at ensuring the operational readiness of the Army Strategic Forces Command. The launch had its impact point in the Arabian Sea.
The missile's launch was witnessed by Strategic Plans Division director general, Strategic Forces Command commander army, NESCOM chairman, senior officers from the Army Strategic Forces Command, scientists and engineers of the strategic organizations, the ISPR press release stated.
"President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan also extended their congratulations upon the achievement," the ISPR statement added.
